Gary Crivellaro
In the 30-plus years since getting his Associates Degree in Electronics, Gary has had various
types of supervisory and managerial positions, including Supervisor of Entertainment at Crayola Experience.
But his first passion has always been his love of acting, which he has been doing since he was 9 years old. He even knew at that age that he wanted to pursue it in one form or another. Gary thrived off the laughter and joy he would bring to an audience, be they relatives at a family gathering or during a school play.
Over the years, Gary was cast in various roles in numerous shows. From the energetic role of one of the brothers in “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” to Nunzio, Father of the Groom in Off-Broadway’s “Tony ‘N Tina’s Wedding” and
everything else in between.
It all came to a head in the summer of 2007, when he was cast as a pirate in a theatre production of Peter Pan. The third “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie was in theaters at that time, so Gary decided to turn his role as a background pirate into his take on Captain Jack Sparrow.
That ensemble performance snowballed into him melding his acting experience with the sales & marketing background he cultivated over the years, working for himself and at other businesses.
That experience springboarded him to start his own entertainment business, Main Deck Productions. The journey he has
been on has affected him profoundly, making him want to break free from traditional norms and make people happy, as he has been doing since he was a young boy.
Ever since that fateful production, Gary has chased the high of the people’s positive reactions to him in character. Merging his acting experience with his business acumen was simply a no-brainer.
The success of Main Deck Productions made Gary realize that people not only enjoyed watching but were thrilled to experience what it was like to be a pirate on a pirate ship…to be part of the crew. He knew that when a person experiences something in a very fun way, they learn and absorb so much more.
He then pondered the question “What if there was a place people could visit and experience something different that they wouldn’t in their everyday life?” At that moment, the spark of an idea was ignited and others would soon
follow. This spark would soon create and be the foundation for GeneYus Creative Group! A company that creates immersive experiences that bring fact, fiction, and fantasy to life.
